So, I’m sure many of you have the heard the “swirling” rumors about the Facebook phone (not to mention the 100 million dollars Zuckerberg is conveniently donating a few days before his unflattering Facebook movie comes to theatres, hmmmm?)
But it seems we have….a CHALLENGER, or challengers! Today Mozilla Firefox (yes the browser) released their prototype model the MOZILLA SEABIRD: boasting an 8 megapixel camera, dual side pico projectors, wireless charging, and an embedded Bluetooth dongle. The dongle acts as both an earpiece and a controller for the phone. Pico projectors allow you to display a virtual keyboard on a tabletop for typing.Looks pretty cool; and if anything the demo is pretty darn cool. If this hits the streets, I’m sure my old 3GS iPhone is going to have company. Do I really need two phones? We’ll see…

There’s a funny saying (don’t ask where I heard it first) that goes something like this: “The world is divided into people who do things–and people who get the credit.”
It’s human nature to be desirous of recognition. It feels good, builds our self-esteem, establishes a sense of confidence in our efforts. Recognition is the kissing cousin of perception; and Perception, well…maybe it’s the kissing cousin of Reality. (I’ll leave that one alone). Back to my point, human beings desire recognition, fine. But…I would argue those who deserve it most, are often those who make the most effort to GIVE it.
It’s easy to shine the spotlight on ourselves, but it takes grace, humility and integrity to put personal effort into making someone else feel good about themselves. The next time you have chance to accept the applause, direct it to someone else. I think you’ll be surprised how quickly it comes back.
All my best,
Rick
