Just thought I’d drop a quick note. Last weekend at Carl Galletti’s Internet Super Conference, I got to catch up with some friends from the internet marketing world… Got to meet some new friends too. I’ll drop in again later, to give you an update.

More Than One Way to Make Money as an Affiliate

There are no great secrets to affiliate marketing, just create a website for each product you are promoting. Affiliate marketers can join numerous programs and sell other companies products to earn money every day. You can choose from building a simple one page website or something more complex, it really is up to you provided it is on the subject of what you are selling. Unlike applying for a sales position in the real world, on the Internet you get to choose what company you want to sell for.

The next step is to consider the affiliate program you intend to promote as your first project. Before you do this you would be wise to carefully read the terms and conditions of the company you want to sign up with; failure to do this can cost dearly. Misunderstandings amongst affiliates are common s don’t be one of them as it will affect your earning potential. There are many companies that will only trade with certain countries so will not pay affiliates if they live there.

Most affiliate programs pay well but it does depend on their prices to start with; fifty percent is the norm but if you decide to become an Amazon.com affiliate, expect around 5-10 percent (this is worth checking regularly). Some of the best information on affiliate marketing is found on Clickbank.com who also promote products and where you can open an account and be paid commission twice a month. You should always be wary of affiliate programs that require a registration or administration fee as they probably earn their income from the large number of people that sign up with them. The majority of programs will use Paypal or Clickbank and both are trustworthy so to ensure you are covered, register with both systems as it is free. At a later stage, trying different companies to handle payments will be fine but your inexperience in affiliate marketing at this point could lead you to making mistakes that are unnecessary.

The Internet has a great deal of information on marketing affiliate products including free ebooks and plenty of websites if you just spend some time searching; you can decide which are worth adding to your favorites. Although some free ebooks contain affiliate links so the author is paid for his work, you do not have to click on these if you do not want to. Many free services exist which can help someone new to this business so why not use them while you are building up an income, there will be plenty of time to invest later. Services provided free is often a way for the person selling them to build up a trust that can generate sales later on.

Where possible in you affiliate marketing business, use alternative forms of advertising to increase your exposure and direct people to your site that might otherwise have missed it. If you provide people with the information they require and point them towards your affiliate website, you cannot go far wrong. To find out where your affiliate marketing efforts are best spent you will need to track where the traffic to your site is coming from and stick to those methods. There is a great deal of money to be made with affiliate marketing because you are not restricted to just one product or company.
